Kiribati

With a growing population of more than 100,000, scarce resources, and the devastating effect of climate change, Kiribati aims to strengthen the link between agricultural production and food and nutrition security. Food provision is mainly secured through subsistence agriculture and fishing. The main goods are copra, taro, breadfruit, sweet potatoes, bananas, screw-pine and papaya.
Inland and marine food sources in its 33 inhabited atoll islands need to be managed in a sustainable way to ensure sufficient support to each family now and for future generations.

Below you will find further information and news updates related to value chains and agricultural innovation in Kiribati.
