Samoa National Roundtable: Developing Local Food Crops and Fisheries Value Chains – A National Action Plan
Date: 3rd April 2019 @ 8:30 am – 4th April 2019 @ 1:00 pm
Location: Tusitala Hotel, Tanoa, Apia, Samoa
The objective of this national consultation workshop is to further refine and validate the Samoa National Action Plan for local food crops and fisheries value chain development and design a roadmap for mainstreaming the priority interventions into national policy and programme processes leading to its final endorsement through shared ownership.
This multi-stakeholder workshop will therefore identify key country specific actions for influencing policy and regulatory frameworks and mechanisms, and attracting additional funding for supporting sustainable public-private producer partnerships for agribusiness and „nutrition sensitive” value chain development.
Additionally, the aim is to agree on the need for establishing and maintaining the Value Chain Coordination/Agricultural Innovation (VCC/AI) in-country platform to address the critical and interconnected issues for enhancing VC development and gain buy-in for joint action for improving incomes and nutrition outcomes.
This workshop is part of a series of workshops supported under the CTA/IFAD/PIPSO Innov4AgPacific project.
